This was our last day in the Balkans. Every day was a blessing, in weather, and people, and history.
To be continued in May/June 2019. In the meantime… turbofolk is my latest musical obsession. You’re all welcome for this.
Fun times up on Trebević.
I described Sarajevo to a friend earlier today as a city with ‘layers and layers of things I love and find beautiful.’ I can’t think of a better way to describe it.
Plans changed, we made more time for Sarajevo. No regrets.
Skopje is weird af. There are so many tacky statues to choose from, I’ll just share the bazaar.
Ohrid, Macedonia. There’s more here… these swans tho!
Uniquely architectured Berat.
Pretty sure architecture cannot be used as a verb, but there are no rules in Albania.
Albania in a nutshell.
Krujë Fortress, Albania. It was infernously hot here… this city is built into the side of a bunch of giant mountains. The geography and construction are pretty impressive.
My impression of Albania is ‘once is enough,’ but this would be the stop I’d suggest.
